Gearbox code

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'd like to know how could I get the gearbox code of my Octavia TDI 90 hp AGR engine from '97. I'tried to ask some o line shops about with the VIN and told me could have different ones and can't be sure.

Thanks,

Does the car still have the information sticker under the boot carpet, or in the service book?

the type will be on the sticker in the boot (hopefully)  but the code is punched in set of numbers which I guess is the date of manufacture  so at a guess will end in 96 or 7

I'm sorry to say that there is no sticker on the boot, but I have a sticker on the service book, with the VIN and the options installed:

The gearbox code should be on the sticker, next to the engine code IIRC.

Strange. I don't think any of the PR codes will tell you. I think going to a dealer is probably the only way.

Can you pull back on that image so that I can see more info on the sticker or take a second photo?, as I think the info I need is just out of shot to id the transmission code for you.

It should be either DQY, EBJ, EGR or JDM if it helps.

I'm sorry to say there is no such codes. Also, car is on my father's home parking, and probably till next tuesday I wont' go.

Whenever I go I'll take a second shoot.

Lift the car at the repair shop and read it from the bottom of the gearbox mate. Just clean the dirt first.

Good idea. I'll try it next weekend.

Thanks
