Fault Light Assist

Featured Replies

Anyone experienced a fault with light assist?

I have light assist enabled (note I don't have lane assist, only light assist) and whenever I switch the full beams on I get Fault Light Assistance warning.

Any ideas what could mean?

That there is a fault?

Seriously though, does LA still work or do you just have manual high beams?

Is the camera lens clean and its view unobstructed?

Have you had your windscreen replaced or has the mirror been removed?

This happened to me after my dealer replaced my interior mirror which contains the HBA camera.

They ignored the coding part.

I managed to restore the coding from my VCDS Autoscan and HBA worked again.

(The coding of the new camera contained a lot of zeros.)

I'm left with manual high beam.

Not had any work done to the car, no replaced windscreen, no replaced mirror. Windscreen is clear, lens for the camera is clear, unobstructed view.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer an no other self fix options. I guess I can use this as an opportunity for them to look at the rattly sunroof too!

You could always get someone with VCDS to scan the car in the meantime

This happened to mine within a few weeks of taking ownership, went in and had the sensor replaced under warranty (the car wasn't even 2 months old). Been fine ever since.

@RB79 can you tell me what was the problem with the light assis fault? I have the same problem and didn't manage to solve it yet! Thanks in advance!

Error would come up when light assist was enabled and put hight beams on. Car would revert to regular high beam.

Took it to the dealer under warranty and I believe they replaced the whole mirror unit?

I have the same problem. Bought car from new in 2014. No probs until 2019 when I got message Light Assist Fail. Dealer replaced sensor which would work for a few weeks then fail again. 5 sensors fitted. Skoda Technical does  not know what the fault is and I was offered a goodwill gesture after complaining vis Skoda UK CEO.
