Difference between 2013 and 2015 model

Featured Replies

I had the pleasure of a loan 2015 Citigo elegance when my Ocky needed repair. I did notice a few differences over our 2013 model

Drivers door had both front window controls (a plus)

I liked the long doors on the 3 door model as it gave better visibility, however getting in and out the back was a pain.

Radio reception lousy. Probably as it only had the stubby aerial.

Gearbox seemed to have a more positive gate (but only had 4K on the clock)

No clutch pedal click. Luckily our 2013 model has had the mod to the new pedal box.

Seemed a little less engine/gearbox noise but that may just be the short time of having it.

Rear parking sensors seemed less sensitive.

Wipers seem to wipe slower?

I did notice the slight lack of power above 4K. Flatter but still eager to rev.

Still no boot light.

There is now a boot light and new seat trims - week 22 on? I think the gearbox is quieter too - hopefully it will not wear off with age!

At some time the gearbox was changed, I found this out with some research when I learnt the way you engage reverse changed from being below 5th gear to push down and next to first gear, although this isn't 100% confirmed

I bet they changed only the gear stick, not gearbox. They made a new gearbox for Citigo/up/mii when car was introduced. Hard to believe that they would change the gearbox again couple years later.

-16 model have a boot light. You can also turn on rear lights together with drl. Just choose parking light position from light switch when ignition is on. ;-) Simply clever.

The change in reverse position means a new box was required, simply changing the linkage wouldn't allow reverse to be in a different position

Well, I don't have -13 model anymore. If memory serves reverse position remained the same. It's just now you have to push down the gear stick before you can engage reverse.

That is correct.

On our 2013 reverse is back of 5th gear. On the 2015 model it's in the same place but you have to push down the gear stick before going into reverse.

They could have done some tweaks for internal parts. Shimming for example. Newer model isn't totally quiet, but quieter than -13 was.

I don't really understand why you'd need parking sensors on a car that's so small and square.

That's what I thought. But now I have parking sensors and I think they are useful.

they reduce the risk of damage to rear if there is a low post or wall like obstacle below the window line,

I now this as I didn't have sensors on my roomster and reversed into a small metal post 18 inch tall creasing and cracking the rear bumper

also helps in supermarket carpark when uncontrolled little darlings just run across the backs of cars without looking when the parent could care less about controlling the little brats

a driver aid which shouldn't be relied on but does help
