SMF Conversion on 4x4 Turbo

Featured Replies

Theoretical question here. Looking at how cheap the 1.8T 4x4 are now getting got me thinking.

I know the G60+VR6 solid flywheel conversion is popular with the FWD 1.8T vRS, but is it also suitable for the 4x4?

Does the haldex rely on the damped output of a DMF, and will an SMF prematurely wear it out?

I can only find a couple of posts from other members who've done the conversion, and that was several years ago.

Perfectly fine, fits and works the same as the 2WD.

No problems with premature wear on the haldex because of the extra vibrations?

Shouldn't be because prop shaft is always spining when you driving. Haldex in the back of the car will not see any vibrations from SMF.
