Any wriggle room

Hey guys,

I'm scouting around for a small car for the missus - Citigo, Mii, Up etc and was wondering, as I have an Octavia on PCP atm, do you think the dealer would offer a good deal if I were to take another car from them on a similar deal?

Cheers.

Yes, VAG are very keen to retain customers at the moment. Lots of offers about at the moment, 0% finance, discounts , free servicing etc.

I think the vag group are doing loyalty discounts too.

Be aware though if you get any of the trio on a pcp you will have to hand it back at the end as there will be a load of negative equity.

that's at the moment, it depends on whether VAG do a good job of damage limitation over the emissions scandal

at the end of a new 3 year PCP thing may have improved

but as ever you pays yours money and takes your chances

Hmm, interesting.

I'll pop in and query it, but I've seen the Dacia Sandero Stepway at the local dealer for £99 a month, which bang for buck seems like a great deal.

Bluecar I can't see the values on the up trio getting better and as skoda have added about 600-800 onto the final values things are probably gonna get worse. That said for the savvy buyer who puts no deposit down on 0% finance is getting a car on the cheap as they are paying less than it will lose.

I think I'll pop into the dealer and see what's what.

There should be a few hundred to play with and they may be able to offer you a loyalty bonus. Just expect to be in negative equity at the end of the pcp despite the bull they may give you.

So I popped in today and queried.

Loyalty bonus is £400 added to deposit if you've had a Skoda for the past 2 or 3 months I think the salesman said. However he didn't mention any other Skoda sweeteners that are being run at the moment - is that right? No servicing for £149, fuel card etc or do new customers buying their first Citigo get no incentives at the moment?

Also, if I placed a Citigo SE order this week for example, would that be a MY16 and is the standard equipment still the same?

Skoda don't do servicing deals at the minute. Neither do seat and vw have cut theirs back to 2 years for 149.

Yes - air con, central locking, TPM, ESP plus traction control, two electric window switches on driver's side, boot light and the upholstery that used to be Elegance.

Ah right, I'll expect these then, cheers.

My Son has just bought a Dacia  Sandaro and he loves it. ( Not the Stepway )  For the price its a no brainer

I'd have to agree with you, however I'm trying to haggle a little over a Citigo SE L at the moment so let's see how that goes.

Salesman told me today that they could potentially price match a brokers quote, however this couldn't be on 0% and would incur APR. Apparently due to broker discounts being cash only and not 0%, which is subsidised by the Skoda dealers.

Is that correct, or is he spinning salesman statements?

Looking at broadspeed.com you can get about £1K off at the moment.

Would that be 1k off and still 0% though?

Got what appears to be good figures on a Black edition Citigo - £1100 dealership contribution, £0 down from me and £113 a month. However it's for a Black Black edition when the missus would prefer a White Black edition (lol, silly name).

Awaiting feedback, but surely as they do it in two colours, sourcing a white shouldn't be an issue.........

That looks like a decent deal me.

Would that be 1k off and still 0% though?

No idea mate, when I bought mine the 0% was a skoda thing so all dealers would have been doing it.

The dealer I'm going to are running 0% too, but appear to not be willing to offer that if I walk in with a broker quote.

See how I get on today with them.

The 0% is on the skoda website so its not a local dealer offer, I may be wrong but it sounds like your dealer is trying convince you his original price is better than you can get from a broker.

It's kind of irrelevant now as they can source a white black edition, which is what we were after. Just took a little nudging that we didn't want the black black off of their forecourt.
