Brakes Needed, Tyres also & Seat cover

Featured Replies

Hi Guys (and Gals).  OK my Skoda VRS 2005 needs brakes, god just had a hire car after the BT man reversed into the front of my car after fixing my home phone.  Only then did I just realise how bad they really are.  I'm sure all corners probably need pads and discs.  I also definately need two front tyres.  I am not much of a "MOD" fan but I like to look after my car.  Money can be a factor but I would rather buy better overall, sometimes the garage I use try to do you a favour by putting on cheap parts.  If the brakes need done on all 4 corners I don't want to do it again in a good while.  The tyres at the front seem to wear also so better quality ones seem to be the way to go.

I also need a front drivers cushion cover (two tone original) i.e. the one under your bum as it is starting to wear through, any ideas where I might get one?  These are things that i'm sure will give it overall a big lift. Thanks for any help/comments.  Paul

As I always say, Brakes and Tyres are the only things that you should never skimp on and replace with non branded cheap stuff. It's basically what keeps you on the ground and what stops you!

I'd reconmend Mintex, Ferrodo, or OEM Pagid brakes. You can pick them up cheaply on Ebay, and ECP (Euro Car Parts) sell Pagid stuff. I personally use Green-stuff from EBC, but they have mixed reviews on here.

As for tyres, there are plenty of threads about the subject. Uniroyal Rainsport 3s are popular and quite cheap. I've had them and were very good in wet and dry, however for me they only lasted the summer. If you don't mind spending a little more, Goodyear Asymmetric 2s are very good and have lasted longer (over a year).

I'm looking for this also, emailed the local parts shop for more info but not heard anything back yet
