Clutch interlock mk 2 Octavia 1.6 2011

Featured Replies

Hi, having random occasional issues when starting  (from cold first thing) with the clutch depressed the starter doesn't operate and a clutch warning shows on the display, occasionally it will try to start with the starter just "flicking", it does eventually start, sometimes after fiddling with fuses etc. although that may be coincidental. ( I have checked/ cleaned all visible contacts/fuses). This happened once before about 18 months ago and was supposedly fixed under warranty. When this first happened the glow plug light started flashing and still is, no fault codes are shown and everything is fine, including brake lights.

My query is, is this a common fault with known causes? can the switch be bypassed? what costs involved for garage to fix?

The starter "Flicking" and not operating altogether both point to a Solanoid problem on the starter its self... I have that same issue on the octy I'm driving and I have to give the solanoid a few taps before it will start.

as for the clutch warning, I've never seen anything like that and it could even be a seperate issue.

I am currently trying to find out why the glow plug light is flashing, for that I would suggest checking this topic here... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/49124-glow-plug-light-flashing/
