Key upgrades.

Recommended Posts

Having seen what people are doing to their keys in the Octavia 3 forum. I'm interested in doing something similar to mine.

Has anyone upgraded their key? Different shells, badges, covers etc.

Quite a few people fit the newer style logo, it's simply a case of removing the old one and sticking on the new. KBPhoto will probably have some more to sell soon: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/380909-14-mm-skoda-key-fob-badges-new-logo/

I had something similar fitted but found it didn't last well. Instead I went for a more OEM solution.

The Citigo has a very similar style of key (3T0837202L rather than 3T0837202C) but with a 12mm logo (3T0837891A) instead of 14mm. You could fit the newer logo in to the older key or replace the entire shell as I did. Assuming that your key has the part number above then it should share the same sized PCB to avoid needing to have the immobilizer reprogrammed.

There's a guy who travels around and can do good rates on new key fobs in Bently style.

I'll be ordering some more 14mm badges if there is enough interest in the thread linked to above.

There's another thread on here about adding chrome to key fobs, but I've not read that one.

I've covered mine with a 99p silicone cover off eBay. Probably not what you are thinking though...
