2014 Used vRS - buying pointers?

Featured Replies

I know there's a similar topic to this already, but I wonder if there are any pointers specific to the vRS?

I'm going to look at a 64 plate vRS (diesel) that seems like a reasonable deal this weekend and wondered if there are any specific things to look out for?

Jeff

Is it DSG or manual?

If it is DSG, ask if it has the engine and gearbox updates to cure the ECO mode issue

I wouldn't worry, it will still be under warranty. Generic stuff like check tyre wear so you can knock a few quid off if low etc

I don't think there are any special issues affecting only the vRS.

There are some good points to look for in this recent thread:

Most of these issues will be covered under warrenty if you experience them.

However, make sure you drive the exact car you intend to buy to check for the Booming from the rear.

Many dealers wont recognise this as a fault & it seems there is still no real 100% confirmed solution for the problem.

Thanks for the pointers and good to know not that much is specific to the vRS.

Agree about driving the car I'm thinking about buying; already had the dealer trying to get me to drive another cars "as they're pretty much the same".

Testing this Sunday and if it's good and can get a good price it'll be mine!
