Felicia Windscreen Motor Problem?

Featured Replies

Hi all-hope someone can help. This morning it was cold as hell and my wipers would just not budge so had to drive a bit with just enough vision till the car warmed up.Thing is coming home at lunchtime it had warmed up yet the wipers still wont move-i can hear the motor trying to move them but they didn't move unless i physically moved them and even then they just returned back once they'd wiped the screen once............so do i need a whole new motor linkage system do you think and if so any ideas on cost and if its difficult to fit?

Tried a few online places for a quote but no response as yet

I have an N reg Felica GLX 1995

Any help much appreciated!

i fear you tried them when iced to the screen????? you may have stripped the cogs on the actual wiper arms :(

in hindsite

do the french thing............ lift the arms off the screen at night, then when you got the ice off you dont have to release the wipers.

so what do i do?

I'm not the worlds best on cars-take it to a garage and let them do it?Will i pay through the nose?I dont want to order the wrong part:confused:

i'm no expert either

sounds like you trashed the spline in one direction hence they return?

wiper motors are very powerfull things, i'm quite sure you trashed the teeth on the wiper arm itself.

I hope not on the actual spline from the motor :( you'll need to take the arm off ... and see what damamge you did. fingers crossed mate, you only fecked up the arms.

In an emergency get the rear wiper off and use if on drivers side...... smaller sweep but when in need etc!
