ABS / pad wear sensor wiring harness

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The wiring harness behind the front left wheel in our octavia has broken.  Looks like it wasn't put in the clips properly when the pads were changed 2 years ago.  Local garage say a VW harness section is £40.  I'm wondering whether I can get it cheaper myself.

Can anyone tell me the part number?  It's a UK '58 plate Octavia 1.9 TDi elegence estate.

And any recommendation for suppliers other than Skoda main dealership?

And has anyone got a drawing showing where it connects to?  It goes through to the engine bay somewhere under the air filter / battery box.  Do I need to remove those?

All help appreciated

Ant

This should be the correct part number if your car has halogen headlights.

This connects directly to the plug on the ABS pump so the battery and tray need to come off for access

Can you not just get cut the bit you need off a scrap car and repair?

Thanks for the suggestions.

The part on eBay is the same price as my local main dealer so no benefit there.

I quite like the idea of repairing it.  It's broken right beyind the connector so that makes it quite difficult, but getting the part from a scrappy, or a longer section, makes sense.  I'll see what I can find.

If its broken at the connector, just cut the wire 6 inches or so from the connector from the scrap car and solder in and then heat shrink.
