fabia 2005 front windows

Featured Replies

My 2005 fabia electric front windows have stopped working I have checked the fuses and they are ok can anyone suggest what may be the fault.i have disconnected the battery then reconnected it   also tried holding door key in open then closed position without success

Does your car have electric mirrors? If yes and they are working it is likely to be the drivers side motor which also has a control/circuit board on top. Worst case senario it would be the comfort module under the dash.

When you disconnected the battery did you try the passenger window using the switch? Mine worked for a short while doing this

Mine does this every winter :) just a bit of moisture in the car and it decides to stop working until summer :)

I love my Fabia...

when you remove the twin door switch there are some power pins can anyone tell me which pin is which so I can test the circuits or  any other ideas please

Not sure if this will be any help for you? Item 74 is the window switch and 70 is the control unit...

Disappearing off the bottom of that 1st pic, 8h/1 is a permanent 12v, and 8h/2 an earth, I think?

I have a faint theory that some of these problems may be caused by bad/corroded connections in unsealed connectors that aren't really expecting a moist environment. Just unplugging and re-connecting any connectors you can lay your hands on, like the door motor modules, may help to 'plough away' any corrosion that is causing trouble.

Worth a try maybe? I'm always one for a free fix. :)

Yes, 8h/1 goes to fuse 58 and 8h/2 is an earth
