Any aftermarket headlights?

Featured Replies

I've been searching all day and so far only found vague foreign websites regarding aftermarket headlights for the MkII

I've found rear lights but there seems to be next-to-no options for the main lights, are there any out there?

Not that ive ever seen.

What is it youd like?

I have never seen anything other than ones on Rally Prepared Fabias.

Well other than Eyebrows.

Oh dear. Not those horrific looking things :D

These are the ones I stumbled upon but cannot for the life of me find out anything else about them, they look different to the ones on Aliexpress.

Left hand drive only I bet, just like most aftermarket headlights for the MK1 Octavia/Fabia. If you were to fit those you'd fail the MOT and blind oncoming motorists, whilst roadsigns will be pretty much in the dark.

They prob are mate yeah.

Just like the LED tail lights are LHD too.

Skoda bring right hand drive new cars into the UK with Headlights that on Dipped Beam hardly light up the road ahead in the Dark because they are so poor.

Then UK Motorists take them abroad un modified, and Left hand drive cars come to the UK Unmodified and the pathetic OEM lighting is just as bad.

New Mercedes, BMW, Kia /Hyundai  with the Type Approved Headlights for the EU /UK are as liable to blind other drivers as

the Gash Aftermarket wrong side lights,

but then these new cars will be passing MOTs in a few years, some might never have the lights checked until then,

but will just drive about blinding others as many are badly / wrongly set from the factory.

'Guess my best option would be to just get an HID Kit installed, could anyone recommend one from experience that doesn't blind other drivers, was looking at about 5000K but I'm new to this really.

www.customlights.in do a pretty nice looking set of aftermarket headlights for the MkII Fabia...

Being based in India their lights are set-up for right hand drive.

Not sure I'd be brave enough to buy them but they look pretty smart...

Oh wow! They do look rather smart, perhaps a bit too purple in places but definitely nice.

The London Colour kits on eBay are well respected on here.

They need to be fitted behind projector lenses which will fine on your vRS.

4300K is OEM but 5000K looks OK too...

£26?!! That's a lot cheaper than other kits I've been looking at, will keep an eye on this thanks!

EDIT: Just noticed the link to that listing shows it's for non-CANBUS vehicles but I'm going to need the one that does support that right?

Does the Fabia have the blown bulb warning system on the dash?

The CANBUS friendly kits (that prevent the blown bulb warnings appearing after fitting the kit) are in fact not very CANBUS friendly, the dirty great resistors tend to play havoc with the cars electrics. I'm more familiar with the Octavia, some cars have run them fine, others have fried their BCM's and or wiper motors etc..

You are far better buying the non-CANBUS kit (without the resistors) and coding the car properly using VCDS. Was the Fabia ever available with factory fit xenon's? On the Octavia you can code the car to think it left the factory with xenon's when fitting the HID kit, not sure if this is possible on the Fabia?

Yes the Fabia does have the bulb warning system on the dash.

The Fabia is alot more simple than the Octy in that respect. ive heard people have really struggled with the Octy to get some that work properly.. this isnt the case with the Fabia. Theyre usually fine.

No the mk2 Fab never had the option of Factory Fit Xenons.

Im not sure if there is an option on VCDS for Xenons. I dont think their is, but i might well be wrong, ill have a look when i get the VCDS out again
