Jammed Passenger side rear door

Featured Replies

Dear Briskodians

I have a skoda fabia 2003 1.4l.

The passenger side rear door seems to be jammed.

It doesnt open using the remote and even if i try to open it from inside using the latch it doesnt open.

Any ideas on how can i have it opened. I have managed to open up the plastic panel, rear window and the inside metal panel. But still i am not able to get the lock opened.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

cheers, Nebu

You will have to smash the lock up a little, Firstly I dremelled the bottom of the cover off to access the two cogs you can see in the pic below. You turn these to undo the lock, however I found they kept kept springing back when I let go.

The solution for me was pull ( aka prise off with large screwdriver) the rest of the cover off, this released something and I was able to turn the cogs without them returning.

After spending some time with it, i finally gave up. Took it to the dealer and they pinched open the old lock and replaced it with a new one.
