Hello everybody. I recently purchased my very first Skoda and shortly afterwards I discovered the Briskoda forum which looks very interesting and very useful, so here I am!

I came to Skoda via a 2006 S-Type Jaguar which had been my dream car for the past 6 years. It was an excellent car and I loved owning it and driving it, but it was time to move on (or should I say onwards and upwards?).

My son had owned a Skoda Superb a couple of years ago, only selling it because he was awarded a company car. He was very impressed with it and so was I, so it was number one on my short list. I set out to buy a 2 or 3 year old 170bhp Elegance Estate - I ended up buying a pre-registered, 4 month old 140bhp Elegance Hatch, so almost met my target! I think I bartered the dealer down to close to his limit and it was too good an opportunity to pass up, essentially a heavily discounted nearly new vehicle with only 50 miles on the clock. Okay, it's not the current model, but I hadn't intended to buy the current model anyway.

And I love it already! Looks good, drives beautifully (not quite as good as the S-Type!) and I can get my golf clubs in the boot with oceans of room to spare. My wife was a Skoda sceptic thanks to Jasper Carrott, but was won over by the looks and the test drive.

Looking forward to many years of Skoda ownership.

Welcome aboard! Always nice to have a fellow yellowbelly along.

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda!

Cheers,

Ste.

Welcome to the club from Spalding. I won't post in the dialect, think it scared the last yellowbelly off.

Love the superbs, it's like ronseal, does what it says on the tin.
