1.8 TSI 180 PS

Featured Replies

Does anyone here own a S3 with 1.8 TSI?

It could be great to hear some feedback. I'm planning to order 1.8 TSI with manual gearbox.

In UK there is no 1.8 TSI option (only 1.4 and 2.0 TSI) - hard to get feedback here.

Thanks for the information.

Ive the 1.8 in an octavia, and Im very pleased with it.

Its quiet, smooth and fast enough for some fun.

I dont know what you are used to, but coming from a diesel Mondeo it is a crackig little engine.

I have the same experience as Gromle. It's a smooth engine, I love it. I don't know how it will be in the Superb but I assume it will be more than strong enough, even if the Superb it is a little bigger and heavier than my Octavia.

The only downside I can see is a little higher fuel consumption and a little less towing capacity than diesels.

Currently I'm driving with VW Golf 6 1.6 TDI 105 PS but next will be petrol due to low milage.

Have you noticed increased oil consumption or these problems were in the previous engines?

Mine havent used any oil since new (8200km). At least not enough to be visible on the dipstick
