667 miles in the first week with Yeti 1.4TSI L&K

Featured Replies

Ok - excited now. A couple of questions to owners that aren't clear from the brochure. I've not been able to actually see a 1.4 TSI L&K

What's the exhaust pipe arrangement? Twin or single

Apart from colour and the L&K logo is the leather any 'better' quality wise than the Elegance leather?

Octavia is considerably more aerodynamic than a Yeti.

  • Dangerous.   Guys - do not buy all the 1.4 L&Ks until I have decided what to do by the end of this month - thank you.  :p

  • Don't worry - numbers have come back and the current cost to change doesn't appeal at the moment. Though the dealer did say he has sold 3 X L&K 1.4s in the past couple of months - more than any o

Well, if it's the same as the 150 tdi it'll have a twin exhaust pipe, the leather seems pretty "standard" quality to me, the brown looks fine in real life too, something you don't even think about after a few days! :)

its a twin pipe.

i reckon the leather is a little nicer that the gobi sand (aka beige) that I had in my elegance.

will also have stop/start - wasnt clear in the brochure and was nice to see when I picked it up

The leather is reasonable, but don't expect full-grain quality. Panel fit and stitching is pretty good, with the thread slitting the stitch holes a mm or so here and there, but it's all very minor. It's not particularly supple. I've not seen the leather that comes with SE L spec, so can't give guidance in that respect I'm afraid.

In an attempt to give a guide as to the real colour of the L&K brown leather, I've just been out to my car armed with a load of colour decks and I've realised just what a weird colour it is. Nothing in the standard Pantone fan gets anywhere near it. RAL Classic closest is 8028 Terra Brown, but the leather colour is nowhere near as 'strong' as that. If NCS colour annotation means anything to you, the best I could get is somewhere between 7005-Y80R and 8005-Y80R. It's actually pretty muted - much more so than you'd think from looking at photos of it online. It's obviously in a part of the colour gamut that's hard to get at with some media. I've lived with it for a few days and don't object to it at all.

Something that did strike me as I fanned the RAL deck is that Cappuccino Beige is a very close match to RAL Classic 7048 Pearl Mouse Grey.

Thanks for all the comments - I must say, the brown leather doesn't phase us, actually prefer it to black, but it's dark enough to be practical.

Our current Yeti is Cappuccino, the brochure referring to it as a beige doesn't do it any favours, but we really like it. We would never have chosen it though if it hadn't been for an Octavia in the showroom in the colour. It's one of those colours you have to see in the metal.

I can't say I really even notice that the leather is brown.

It certainly wasn't a problem when I ordered the car and I can ever see it being a problem.

Most of the time I can't even see it as i'm sat on it.
