AXA.

I've used them a few times previously and have always found them very friendly.

Free online amendments, and had a windscreen repair last year which was painless and didn't have an adverse effect on the new premium :)

My insurance is up at the end of the month, I'll have to give them a call. Probably not modification friendly though I'd imagine are they?

I don't think they are as I moved from them when I had my stage 1 Audi S4

I used theinsurancefactory.co.uk for that car, seem to remember they were way cheaper than others. Think I paid about £320 for that. Worth checking them out :)

I just left AxA due to all their literature being covered in 'multi car' stuff and try for a quote, I asked and the guy on the phone to me a current policy holder couldn't be assed and said there is no point really as we are not competitive it would only waste both our time LOL Top marks for honesty. This was due to hearing what I had already been quoted elsewhere for a multi car policy and the poor guy knowing they wouldn't come anywhere near that. Will miss my EU breakdown cover and fully comp on driving other cars though :( I give axa 9/10 personally which is good going from me!

Not quite what you're expecting -

Had my car insurance renewal emailed today, and it's cheaper than all the new online quotes!!

£253 fully comp for my Golf R, cheapest equivalent online came back at £295.

WTF, in 20 odd years of renewals this has never happened. Even better when I rang up they knocked another 20 quid off just for asking.

I'm still on shock :D

Last couple of years my car and home insurance renewals have matched if not beaten the online comparison quotes.

Home insurance (just done) was about £20 cheaper when you totted up the free extras we had (legal and emergency cover) that weren't included with the other quotes.

FWIW my insurance was similar and I've just renewed.

Maybe people have decided it's better to keep happy customers than spend all this money wining new ones for a year, then losing them, then winning them, then ....

Yep, my house and both of our cars have had the best quotes from the existing providers for the last couple of years.

It probably helps that we are a good customer who pays in full in advance and doesn't claim.

My renewals have been getting progressively better over the last few years too.

You'd think if they're as awesome at profiling you as they claim to be, it would be trivial to mark people as jumpers and offer them good renewals up front.

Maybe we are all just getting old.

We've certainly over 10yr no claims on cars and houses.

I have had a few claims in the last 5yr on the car but all either no fault or windscreen.

My insurance costs have still been going up however. Not unexpected. I reckon we've bottomed out and we're into inflation if nothing else.

:o

My renewal just came through and its over £400 more then the best I could find (Chris Knott). The best the guy would do was knock £100 off and was gobsmacked when I said he was still miles off.

I assume theinsurancefactory.co.uk were modification friendly then?

Just picked up some big brakes and want to look into insurers before I fit them, as Sainsbury's said they couldn't insure me if I modified.

theinsurancefactory.co.uk just took me to a selection of links to money supermarket and other comparison sights.

Do you know of any specific modification friendly insurers?

"If you're over 25 years old we could save you money"

*Sigh*

Not to worry, thank you for replying so quickly. I think I'll try one of the sponsors. Read that the Notts company only insures if you have owned the car for a year, which I will have done in May. Might have to wait till then to install the big brake conversion [emoji17]
