H8 Fog lights

Featured Replies

Has anyone changed these bulbs?

The fog lights on my Scout are ****e, I struggle to see if they are on or not.

I notice the H8 is only 35w the H9 is 65w, the bases are very similar and I'm thinking of trying some.

Will the extra wattage cause a Canbus warning?

If you take a tiny bit off the fog light plastic in the right places (2 seconds with a sharp stanley knife) then either H8 or H11 will fit unmodifed. This way you can just slot in a standard H8 or H11 if one blows without having to cut the bulb metal first. There are more options for decent bulbs in H11 too

If you do it take small bits off in two places rather than the obvious one large bit (you will see what I mean when you look at it) then the H11 will sit how it should when fully seated

The fuse rating would indicate the system should easily cope with 55w. Had no canbus or other problems with the last one, just not got round to it with this one

I used h11 in my fog lamps, 80W CREE with no modifications or errors.
