Do door locks need coding at all?

Featured Replies

Changed my window regulator today, so had to unplug the passenger side door lock motor/modul thing. I had the ignition on and off a few times moving the glass etc but with it unplugged.

All went back together fine, door locks off the key, unlocks as it should off the key. The lock and unlock button beside the window switch both operate fine but...

My car has anri-hijack, so driving over 10mph the doors lock, all of them lock like normal but now the passenger side unlocks straight away as if it's jammed or somthing.

Didn't know if it has logged a fault being unplugged or needs anti-hijack putting back on.

could be out of sync with the others; try disconnecting it; unlock the others and reconnect or vice-versa. Never heard of a lock needing coding TBH, mate. At least not on a MkI Fabia.

Swapped mine for an Ibiza one and it was plug and play (back when my Fabia was a Fabia) and never had to mess with the drivers one when it became a Fabiza... so no coding required :)

I wasn't aware of any coding, just strange how everything works like normal apart from anti-hijack which I know gets coded in.

I'll have a play about with it, might take the battery off for a little bit and do a full system scan and see if it's logged open-circuit with it being unplugged.

Worst case I'll just turn anti-hijack off! :D

Sack it off and go manual [emoji23]

Just me then? Haha

Anti hijack has worked on mine too :) Lee could be right, they may be out of sync?

The only person too lazy for remote central locking, because he's too lazy to make it work :P
