Hi all, been a while since I posted but as I have done in the past, here's my next review of my Octy after two years of ownership or at least it will be Jan 9th.

Firstly, the car in question, full spec is at the bottom of the post. It was a cancelled order that my local garage had just received so I took it to avoid the daft 6 month waiting list. Brand new but of course I had to take the spec it came with which is actually pretty comprehensive.

So, she's covered 20,200 miles so far, average fuel economy is 46.8 which I'm fine with.

What's gone wrong?

Well, a noisy fuel pump replaced under warranty at three weeks old and both power boot struts which were leaking badly replaced under warranty a few weeks ago at its second (free) service.

What's gone right?

Everything else really. No, it's true, she has performed faultlessly and all is good with her. She's as spacious as my family and two dogs need, she's plenty quick enough despite being a diesel slushmatic, now the suspension has got a few miles under it, it's less choppy than new, in fact, I find her a joy to drive.

What have I added?

A boot liner for the doggies, those neat little inserts for the seat adjusters, mudflaps, eyebrows (well, I needed somewhere to put the Briskoda sticker) and boy racer wheels while the originals are clean and snug in the garage.

What would I like to change on her?

Well, as I mentioned, being a cancelled order, the spec was decided for me, if I had the chance I would have liked leather seats and Nav but that's about it. It wasn't available on the early ones but I would like folding mirrors and a FBSW.

What bits do I like about her?

In particular, the pan sun roof and the power boot, both make living with her even more pleasurable and yes, I LIKE METEOR GREY! The Tdi engine is sweet and grunty and although the marriage to a DSG takes a little bit of getting used to, I find the combination both nippy and effortless.

So, all I all, I'm still very pleased, my current work situation means I'm hardly piling on the miles so that's good and she continues to deliver every time I drive her. Currently I have no plans to trade her, once the warranty expires, I might just have a chat with those nice people at DTUK and I might get a more moody set of wheels.

That's about it, looking forward to another year of great motoring.

Special mention to Station Garage at Broadbridge Heath who continue to deliver excellent levels of customer service and in case you think my review is a touch rose tinted, I AM NOT affiliated to Skoda or VAG in any way, I'm just a very satisfied Octy 3 vRS owner.

I to have a vRS TDi DSG in White estate, and I am very pleased with it. I would recommend the DTUK Trevor turning box, (plus I also have the peddle box), great fun, you don't know what you are missing!! Why wait? (Life's tooooo short) It's so easy to remove, and it's well worth it.

Cheers for the heads up Steve, as soon as I have sorted some rather costly parts for a bike rebuild I'm doing, I might just go for it.

I'm terrible at trying to resist things like a tuning box, I have the breaking strain of a warm mars bar!

I have been following your upgrade of your wheels, I had mine power coated from new in gloss black. It's also been lowered on HR springs, plus a number of upgrades etc. My Monte has had a leather retrim, and I am thinking of getting them to do the same to my vRS!!
