Firstly, it is dead easy. There will be a long rubber grab handle on the inside of the boot lid, Underneath this there will be a screw that needs to be removed first.

Once this is off it is simply a case of prising the plastic panel off. It is held in place with a number of plastic clips so you'll need a removal tool or a lever to get yourself started, Once the first clip is released and you can get your fingers under then the rest should follow pretty easily. Be careful though as the clips are brittle, I recommend buying some spares before starting.

Secondly, please don't remove the wiper. The back end of an Octavia isn't particularly pretty and certainly not good looking enough to benefit from the absence of a rear wiper. I can understand wanting the smooth or clean look on a newer or more sporty car but not a functional five door family hatchback.

I actually found that the rear spoiler on the vRS did a good job of hiding the rear wiper anyway.

Either way good luck!

Why would you want to remove a piece of equipment that allows you on a wet day, to spot the following drivers lack of forward concentration. It's the driver you don't see, that easily includes you in the most common crash, the rear end shunt! Keep that wiper, so that it can continue to reduce your risk from the rear.
