catch can

Featured Replies

hi all

just purchased a cheapo ebay catch can with 15mm tails, now my idea is to fit 19mm tails,. this is where im lost., i need a fitting to go from 19mm - 3/4???

i spose i need 19mm all the way through the connection?  or it will strangle it?

does this make any sense!!!

so what size hole to i need for a 3/4 bsp ???  from what i can see its like 24mm

I used 19mm (3/4 hose) you can get silicon reducers from 19-15mm, then 15mm push fittings.. which i'm considering when I fit my "proper*" catch tank. a smaller diameter just means the gasses will flow quicker through the pipes, and hopefully will mean a greater velocity drop at the catch tank, thus more crap getting intercepted.. put a fresh hockey puck on the intake pipe, as this unit is the last line of defence to stop nuggets getting sucked into the inlet! I found the first few weeks my catch tank was filling up with water and needed emptying 2 or 3 times a week (about 200 miles)

*not a coffee can from poundland with two holes drilled in the top where the pipes were pushed through!  :peek:

.. thats 19mm inner bore, the outer size is not usually quoted when specifying pipe and tubes  :)
