I am currently looking on Amazon for a VCDS cable for my 04 ASZ Fabia VRS, so i can take group 11 logs.

 

I understand there are a number of cheaper £6-£10 ones, but all of these have varying reviews to "ok" to "dont touch with a barge pole".

 

Do any of you guys have any recommendations and or links, or should I just bite the bullet and pay £30-£40 for a decent one?

I bought this one, halfway between your pricing extremes. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Reputable company. Says it's only compatible up to 2003, but I bought it for a 05-reg Fabia, and it's worked fine. Maybe phone them with your reg and let them confirm that it'll work? Or establish it via Ross-tech info on their site (which is I think what I did).

The 5 quid kkl cables from a well known bidding site work just fine. Who cares about reviews? Its a cable!

Remember their is no genuine Ross tech VCDS lite cable. You have to buy a KKL cable.

£40 for a KKL cable is crazy. Don't confuse these with the cloned VCDS cable. Totally different.
