Steering rack arms and...?

Featured Replies

Had the steering rack arms replaced under warranty to cure creaking noise when turning the wheel at low speeds. Another noise has manifested itself. If I drive over sharp speed humps or when a wheel drops into a pothole or sunken drain cover I hear a graunching knocking noise - what can this be? It happens with both wheels with noise seemingly coming from centre of the car

Problem was worn drop links which were replaced under warranty today. Worn after 12k miles!! Had the steering rack arms replaced at 9k and now drop links at 12k. Must be quality issues at the factory. Is it Skoda trying to keep manufacture cheap or falling standards of quality control??

There were a known batch of steering arms that gave issue on the Fabia/Roomster.

Drop links have always been crap, through out the VW Group.
