hpi car check interpretation help please

Featured Replies

Hey peeps,

Can a competent person confirm my understanding of the below from a hpi report that has reported an alert on a plate transfer for a car about to be purchased from a trade dealer:

Plate Transfer

The current plate was transferred to this vehicle on 19/10/2015

HA1**RN was applied to this vehicle on 08/05/2015

This VRM has been recorded as having an outstanding finance agreement

An outstanding finance agreement was recorded on 30/09/2015 against a VOLVO C30 SPORTS COUPE 2

CY1**ZR was applied to this vehicle on 21/07/2011

There are no interests recorded against CY1**ZR

So my interpretation is that the HA***** plate previously on the car to be purchased is now on a vehicle with outstanding finance so the CY***** plate shows no problem on the car in question.

All other aspects of the check were fine. This was through hpicheck.co.uk, no one of those cheapo three quid reports you see advertised on day time tv.

Please can someone confirm?

Thanks

Lee

Sounds right to me

If you have any doubts ring HPI check. They will be able to deal with any questions over the phone. Had a similar issue with SWMBO's new to her car few months ago. Showed up finance owing. Private sale. Guy said no finance paid for with a loan. Rang the dealer he got it from nope paid cash. Rang my car check. They confirmed no finance on the phone. Had it removed within 24 hours and a new certificate sent
