10/15mm spacers yes or no?

Featured Replies

Other than looking better with the ever so slightly more 'stance' are spacers a good idea? 10mm front 15mm rears.

Will be on standard VRS alloys and 40 vogtland springs and dampers.

You won't normally get 15mm spacers on the rear. They won't be deep enough to go over the centre of the hub and sit flat on the disc. 20mm minimum.

Re read the post, he wants 15 on rear ;) in all seriousness tho, I had trouble getting even 15mm hubcentric on the back of Hyphons car, they needed adjusting by a friendly mate with a lathe to get them to clear the centre bore.

Doesn't Doesn't spacers put More strain on The wheel bearing

In theory, maybe. But they are up to the job in most cases.

Hubcentric will spread the load better. The only advise I can really give is don't buy cheap ones as they may warp, especially the thinner sizes like 10mm or below. And they can be a pain in the backside to get off should you need to. I had some on the Octy got stuck on despite a decent helping of copper grease...obviously not enough.

I've got 8mm front and 15mm rear, just get H&R plus spacers and longer wheel nuts. I will try and find some pictures

As long as the face of the spacer touches the face of the disc/drum it's all good. Different makes have different clearances. I've got some of the bolt on 20mm steel ones off eBay and tbf they have been as good as gold on many cars over the years.

This guy has 15mm on the back?

Also seen other people with 15s.

H&R and FK branded hub entries?

Yes it is possible, but not all 15mm spacers will fit unless they have enough depth to them. 8mm hub centric spacers are not something I've seen before as there is more than 8mm of spigot on the hub so not sure how it sits flat. I have machined down 15mm to 10mm before not but there isn't a great deal of metal left connecting the spigot to the spacer and I have seen them come off.

I see, cleverly made with a really small spigot.

Pm'd you Adam. Mine are the same as the last pic.
