C'mon then Mike - Spill the beans!!

Yeah, don't keep us all in suspenders, I mean suspense. :D

I like the sound of that turbo. :D Sounds a little like mine I think (VNT2)

well it's not the turbo!! :D so I cant use the excuse of upgrade to a bigger one to SWMBO!

VAGCOM came back with the manifold sensor, which is probably due to the extra air coming in that I'm guessing cant escape as quickly

Shame looks like I'll have to get a miltek now ;)

Wasn't going to say before as big brother might be watching, but to hell with it

Ahh, that'l be -

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor G71

The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor G71 supplies a signal that is required to

check the charge pressure (boost pressure). The Diesel Direct Fuel Injection Engine Control Module J248 compares the actual measured value with the setpoint from the charge pressure map. If the actual value deviates from the

setpoint, the Diesel Direct Fuel Injection Engine Control Module J248 adjusts the

charge pressure via the Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve N75.

Effects of signal failure

The charge pressure can no longer be regulated. Engine performance drops.

You're running a standard exhaust system? Whip that cat out. :D

sounds about right stu, hoing to get it sorted fairly soon as I'm off for a week from saturday!

Jas, yep standard jobbie, I was going to change it but when I had the funds the GB fell through, then the FMIC GB was going (which was too good not to miss), it's just a case of getting bits when they are at the right price ;)

How hard is it to take the cat off/replace?

Blueflame systems go for

How hard is it to take the cat off/replace?

Easy - can you use a hacksaw? ;) Actually, you probably want it done properly, so I'd go with replacing the pipe with an aftermarket cat-free one :D

After typing that I though Mike that wasn't put very well was it! what I did mean was how hard is it to fit a replacement cat free pipe ( as you said). I remember someone saying the system is a bu99er to get off.

*Mental note must think before posting!*

Oh and does anyone want to chip in to the "mikes turbo back system fund"? :D

Powerflow dealer - find your nearest one on the powerflow website. Was about £100 for all the work to mine - Basically involves two angle grinder cuts to get the thing out, and a pipe put in its place which goes OVER the oem pipework and tightens up with a pair of bolts on each side. No welding in to worry about and system doesn't need removing complete or anything - just gets put up on a ramp. Mine was done (including backbox) inside one hour at my local highly recommended powerflow dealer.

the MAP sensor???? its *very* *very* rare for that to fail..

more likely to be a dodgy connection.

UPDATE:

Indeed it wasn't the sensor as such but like you said a dodgy sensor which has now been sorted! (big thank you to those involved in helping me out on this one!!)

Having a bad week with my car though :( someone has borrowed my fabia whilst I've been at work, and kerbed the bu99ery out of the passengered side alloy, no-one will/has owned up but I know for a fact it was not me!

Oh well it's near christmas which it the time of forgiving! :(
