Mirrors - black pack

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I want to try and get hold of a pair of black mirror 'caps' for the door mirrors rather than the colour coded ones I have.

Any idea of part numbers?

I assume it's back to my dealer to order?

Sorry chaps, found them, Hortons Skoda have them. Anybody know how to get the old ones off?

Thanks for that. :)

As Superskodas 20% off deal has now expired, Hortons it is!

Sorry to hijack thread - need to replace the indicator lens in the passenger mirror. Did you have to remove glass / unscrew or are the black covers clipped on?

If you watch the video above till 2:45 you will see the indicator lens, which just looks like its clipped, so can possibly be unclipped from the looks of it. But I think you would have to remove glass, unscrew the screws & the pop of the back cover & then unclip the front plastic mirror cover (1:50) because from up till this point the indicator lens looks like its clipped from the inside

^ I was thinking the same. The indicator lense is a complete unit with 2 upper clips (to the upper cover) and 2 lower clips (to the bottom cover) and the end of the lens that faces back to the rear of the car. However in the video it looks like the mirror surround (back cover) has one screw into lower cover and one screw into upper cover - is this correct?

Obviously, I will find out at the weekend, but was trying to avoid removing mirror glass at all costs as this car has already had its fair share of bad luck!

I'm not to sure to be honest as regards the upper & lower screw, I seem to recall, when changing my mirror covers over for the black pack style, I just tilted the mirror glass one way & used a screwdriver to get the backing off! I'm sure that's how I did mine. But as regards the screws I don't think I unscrewed them, I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday let alone last year :) sorry I can't be of much help but hopefully you will manage to get it sorted

You could always sell the VRS and buy an S. It already comes with black wing mirrors. :-)
