Monte All Season tyres.

Featured Replies

The difference on the vRS is that the Cruise Control and speedo reads 72 mph when you are doing 70mph.

Sat Nav / GPS confirmed.

But then do Pirelli Zero Nero 205/40 R 17 which measure bigger physically compared to say Dunlop Sport Maxx in 205/40 R 17. (lots of tyres of the same Sidewall Marking are slightly different sizes by Brand and Tread Type, the Walls Width at the widest point are measured not the rear width on the road. Some tyres have Rim Protectors, some are taller sidewall like Pirelli Zero Nero.)

The Polo GTI, Seat Ibiza Cupra / FR & Audi A1 185ps Twinchargers come as standard on 215/40 R 17 tyres,

and VW, Audi, Seat showed them as having better performance, economy and lower emissions even when they are heavier.

Odd that really, same engines and gearboxes.

Ahh,

i just noticed a bulge on the sidewall of the Maxxis AP2 tyre that was fitted at Christmas and has only done 4,500 miles.

So that is scrap. No idea when it was done but it must have just been in the last week.

The are marked Reinforced but thats counted for nowt.

I am putting on 16" Rims and something with a strong sidewall, probably more Hifly HF 805 which have done me well in the past.

& Tyre showing cracks already.

SO RECOMMENDATION ON THESE TYRES WITHDRAWN. ...  Barsteward,  I like how they perform as well.

a little unfair perhaps? That can happen to ANY tyre, looking at the cracks you probably hit something, I hit a pot hole in my grande punto with 215/40/17's on and it popped the tyre (expensive bridgestone potenza, reinforced) ....

I wouldn't say its the tyres fault, I would say thats an impact.

I know it will have been an impact, not blaming the bulge on the tyre just the roads and the driver hitting something.

The cracks are on both front tyres and they have not been below 30PSI.  They have been ragged & have been good in very little intervention

from the TC.

I am not crying about it i have wrecked plenty of tyres in the past and these were cheap.

Not putting another set on though.

Are you serious? I thought that you were these tyres #1 fan? I was even considering them for my next tyrechange.

Do you still stand by your revised negative opinion of them or have you now had second thoughts?

Tramell,

they are great tyres on the road, but the side wall is maybe just not as reinforced as some other tyres.

Maybe read the latest post in the review on them in the tyre section.

It is nice to see you are still taking an interest.

I'm wanting to replace my pirelli p zero tyres as I hate them. Only trouble is there's about 6-5mm tread left on em. So I guess I'm stuck.
