Bolero, Bluetooth but no maxidot?

Featured Replies

I've got a '56 plate VRS with the standard Stream head unit fitted.

I'd like to have an OEM Bluetooth compatible head unit to intergrate my phone and am looking into getting a Bolero.

I understand I will probably have to upgrade the canbus gateway but what is needed to get the Bluetooth phone function working?

A Bluetooth module (mine's under the passenger seat) plus the loom and mic. You can use the Stream surround for your Bolero, so no extra expense there. You should be able to do it all for around £250.

Will it all still work even though I don't have a maxidot display?

Also where's the OEM location for the module?

I have an iPhone 6. Do I have to use a specific module or will all work?

Get a 7p6 035 530 j or above or 5k0 035 730 d or above module for an iPhone and a Bolero without maxi dot. Contacts will display on the Bolero.

adamal - thanks for the reply.

Will both of these allow me to play my music on my phone through the Bolero as well?

No probs. Yes they will.

I finally got round to fitting the Bolero (Blauplunkt version), Bluetooth module (5K0035730D) and updated canbus (from Eddie_NL) last Friday.

The unit synced with my phone (iPhone 6), however the contacts do not display correctly. On the occasion I have seen something in the contacts list the name and number is all together along with random letters/numbers/symbols.

Has anyone come across this?

And if so, how did you solve it?

Thanks

I have - it was down to the BT module not being fully compatible with the Bolero model. A change of BT module resolved this issue.

That particular car did have Maxidot though - but that presented a different and additional issue that you will not face.

What module did you change it for?

And was it the 5K0035730D that you had previously?

It wasn't me or my car: I was helping out another Briskodian.

To find out which module, I'll have to look back over the VCDS scans and my PM's from him so may take a time to get an answer for you. Sorry.
