Braided fuel pipe, red finishers & clips

Featured Replies

Got some left over pipe and clips from doing my braided fuel and coolant pipes. Not sure on the length but can check if need be.

Random pictures I suppose.

Pipe costs around £20

Each finisher is about £4

Clips are a couple of pound each

About £60 worth of stuff.

1 x roll of pipe

1 x AN4 silver finisher

3 x AN4 red finisher (tight fit)

5 x AN6 red finisher (better fit IMO)

2 x smaller clips for pipe

2 x medium clips for pipe

Only sitting in the garage so make me an offer. For rules sake... £60! :D

Yeah, just cut it to match whatever size pipe you need, tape around the ends to keep them neat then put the finisher over to hide the tape and tighten.

Ok cheers. See what funds i have the end of the month dude

Yeah mate

How much of it is there? is there enough to do all the fuel pipes and the coolant pipes

  • Author

Not sure, havnt measured it to find out mate.

If they are going on a Fabia I can measure / cut them all ready to fit straight away if need be as I have plenty sets of spare original pipe that I've removed to fit the braided ones now so know the exact sizes.

Yes they are going on a mk1 VRS, that would be good mate, what's the best price you can do on them posted?

  • Author

Had a few people offer £40...

I'd do them for the £35 as posted above also.

There's enough to do four pipes basically so you could do all four fuel pipe hoses on the left or the two fuel pipes you see to beside the engine cover and the coolant hose.

The pipe is approx 1.5M long and was originally 3M which means I used 1.5 to make the five pictured so might be possible to do all five.

Here's a picture that might help, the two pairs of pipe wrapped together are fuel pipe and the middle one on its own is the water pipe.

And a picture showing the gap to get the braided part into the smaller finisher, it's possible but fiddly

And the gap on the larger finisher, much easier to get past.

Top tip: wrap the hose in either masking or electrical tape and then cut the hose through the tape, this keeps the braided ends neat and makes fitting the finishers easier (the tape will be hidden by the finishers)

Yep, that's sound advice, I always use electrical tape as you can wrap it tight so it stretches.
