Headlights

Featured Replies

We have purchashed a new Citigo today.

Can anyone advise me as to how good the headlights are on a Citigo please?

We live out in the sticks so I normally change to bulbs in my cars to Osram night breaker, or similar.

How easy is it to change the headlight bulbs on a Citigo?

Thanks

The headlights are pretty good as standard. Much better than my Mk5 Golf was.

Hi Dave,

They are not great when dipped to be honest. I've not upgraded yet, coped by adjusting, although I really must. When I head to smaller, dark roads, I can only make 40+ speeds work on fullbeam. On dipped there just isn't enough light to be safe imho above 40. Unless you know the road very well. Full beam are more than ok, again a set of nightbreakers would be better.

For reference I came out of a superb with moving headlamps; bits inside at least, so I was very spoiled for b road driving.

Overall for illuminated 'city' areas it's fine, not an issue. Until you plunge yourself into darkness.

I'd say they aren't great either but I forked out 20 for a set of nighbreaker plus by osram and that's made the world of difference.

That said the missus has a new polo and her lights are similar.

Perhaps should have said, this is where all of our driving is done. Very little rural stuff for us

Adjustment is the first thing to address, from the factory, my headlamps where set too low. Nightbreaker unlimited where a decent upgrade too.

Thanks for all the replies.

Are they easy to fit or do I have to be double jointed with tiny hands?

Really easy, prize off connector (can be very tight), pull the rubber boot from the rear of the bulb, unhook spring clip and bulb is out. New one in, replace spring clip, boot and connector, jobs a good 'un.

It's a 5 minute job dead easy!
