it still had fuel - it was parked a couple of miles away in a lane all locked up with no damage - a friend noticed it and recognised the reg number - police said it could have been parked ready to move again tonite - very lucky - a few bits missing from inside but otherwise ok. Booked into the garage for new locks and immobiliser as nobody can explain how it was taken and locked up again

You sure your Bro didn't have a few too many the other night!

The immobiliser on the Audi TT is part of the dashpod(speedo, revcounter etc) not a seperate unit- -this is also matched to the engine control unit and the keys.

I take it your brother has all his keys ??? - the insurance company are likely to want them - if he hasnt got the keys he better be prepared for a battle. One of my customers had his car stolen, insurance co asked for his keys and service book etc - he could only give one key as he had genuinely lost one -- it took him nearly six months to get paid out.

But as I said the immobiliser is all linked - keys can only be coded with the car, plugged into a VAG diagnostic machine with a link to the factory.

That said being an X-Reg it could be on the last of the fixed code keys which are SLIGHTLY easier to deal with(not telling how - obviously)
