Yup so just sold my 2012 Octavia estate, simply to small for me! Being 6ft7 I should have bought a Suoerb ages ago!

Anyways, here it is,

2012 Superb Elegance Greenline ( stupidly slow )

Plans are maybe 18" wheels and definitely a remap and remove DPF & EGR. It's a taxi, my last Octy was the 1.6 105 and after the remap it came to life, was a real nice car to drive just too small.

Like the plans.......should give you a nice compromise between a bit of fun and practicality. Funds allowing I'd drop the height by 20mm too (no more, trust me, it's a PITA if you use the car a lot loaded...). Looks a bit nicer and handling improves especially on motorways. Well, that's my experience anyway....Nice colour too.

Great choice. Not sure how you managed to get anyone behind the drivers seat in an octavia! How you finding the comfort of the seats? At 6ft 5 I'm struggling a bit with mine...

Would love to lower it, but as its a taxi I don't think it'll be a good idea. What I do with all my cars however is replace any broken parts with better than OEM quality replacements, but had this on the ramps the other day and my mechanic confirmed it's mint.

Comfort wise I'm happy so far, just constantly moving the seat though to try getting the perfect driving position.

The A5 was a tight squeeze but people folded them selfs in some how! Lol...... I have my seat currently a good bit back and I can sit comfortably in the back behind the drivers seat, therefore any normal person should feel the are in a limo hahah

Whats up with the rear wiper? Looks as though it hasn't parked properly...

I'll look into that, can't say I've noticed but yeh the pics show it sitting higher than normal

G

I understand that the rear is similar to the fronts in that it does park slightly higher up every so often to exercise the blade, it's just it seems a little higher than what I was expecting.

The Greenline is already lowered (I think 15mm) from standard to reduce drag, so any further lowering would probably have you in trouble. I find that my Superb on stock suspension touches down less than the Octavia I had before (Also stock ride height) even though it's longer.

Definitely needs 18's, I'm not a greenhead.

@psycholist, your the 3rd person to tell me the Greenline is slightly lower than standard so must be true.

G

Yes its definitely 15mm lower.  I've driven greenlines even on 16s and I found them a little harsher than they should due be to the lowered suspension setting.  With 18s, especially with a 40 profile, this would be quite harsh with a lot of shuddering and thumping through the car.  I think 17s might be a good compromise considering its a taxi.  If you do end up going the 18s route, try get a 225/45/18 as opposed to 40.  The extra few mms makes all the difference especially around town where I assume you would doing most of your driving.

Thanks for your input, this is the first superb I've driven and compared to my 12 plate Octavia it's night and day, so quiet on the road, not as bumpy or harsh on the road.

I'll take your comments on board about wheels & tyres, just think the current 16" spectrum wheels don't do the car justice, especially it being an Elegance
