Weird Fabia issues...

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

A couple of strange things have developed with my car recently.

First of all, the interior light, which normally only comes on for the front passenger door, has been coming on at random times whilst I've been driving recently. Sometimes it will come on and off, but at other times it comes on and stays on for quite a while. I've tried checking all the doors etc and it doesn't seem to be linked to them. I can't figure out what's causing it. Any ideas?

Secondly, when I parked up tonight, after switching the engine off I got the buzzer sound that you normally get if you set off with the handbrake on, or when you are down to your reserve tank of fuel, neither of which applied here. It's the only time it's happened but it's a bit weird. What could be causing that?

Cheers!

not sure about the first part but re the warning sound; was your indicator stalk set to indicate left or right?

We're your lights on?

Sounds like a door lock issue to me.

Mine does the warning sound if you push indicator stalk down with the lights still on i think.

First one sounds like a door lock switch.

Second one was probably because you left the indicator on - when you do that it keeps the parking light on on the side of the car that you have the indicator set to (e.g. for parking on a dark road at night so your car doesn't get swiped). The warning is so you know your light is on. It does it even if you have the lights turned off.

Thanks all. I've had the car nearly a year and it's never made any noise if I leave the lights on after turning the engine off, but perhaps it's because the indicator stalk was down as well?
