Fuel filler flap

Featured Replies

Hi, just accidentally pressed on my fuel filler flap as I walked past my Yeti and it sprang open. I checked and the car was locked with the central locking, the flap shouldn't open with the car locked surely?

Is there anything I can easily check myself before

I get onto the dealer?

Thanks,

Steve.

No it should not open with car locked.
Try locking and unlocking a few times then try to open the flap with the car locked.

WIfe came back to Yeti after a club walk to find the  filler flap on the Yeti and a  nearby Hyundi? were both open - suspicious.

Anyway for flap to be opened when car is  locked ?

Yeti hadnt been refuelled recently so not a matter of it not having been closed properly.

UPDATE

Maybe the answer:

With car locked push hard on flap to open - nothing happens.

Unlock car - flap springs open unnoticed.

So likely scenario someone tried to open filler flaps of the 2 cars parked next to each other - failed, but flapes opened when cars unlocked.
