would it be the same car you spoke about in this thread? the HTP?

whats the whine like? dont tell me the gearbox is buggered too?

Yes it's the same, the noise can be heard only from the interior when the windows are closed and the radio off it's the same sound you get from the revers gear (hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm), i didn't gave any attention to this until few day ago when i was driving without radio. i'll record it. regarding the acceleration problem every thing is normal according to my dad and to every one who drove it.

I tested it again and i found :

Whining @ 1st from 1000 to 3000 rpm

Whining @ 2nd under 2100 rpm

Whining @ 3rd under 2100 rpm

Whining @ 4th under 2100 rpm

@ 5 th dificult to detect

The sound is similar to the one produced by the electric window motor and the one made by the reverse gear but lower then these 2.

Sombody told me that the motor is a bit quiet (good sound insolation) that's why i can hear the gear box.

Yes but my dealers mechanics are not very good they damaged some cars and i am 100% sure that they are going to tel me every thing is good since the gear change is very smooth.

But you are asking strangers that can not guess what the issue is.

Where are you, is there no other Dealerships near with good technicians, or ask an Independent Mechanic to try driving your car

and give an opinion

I'm just asking about the sound if they have it or not, do your car make similar noise (a humming @ low rpm in 1st and 2nd)

Maybe try another dealership then?

It doesnt have to be the one you purchased the car off, and Skoda dealership will do (:

As said above, the whine in reverse is perfectly normal and happens in every car, it's because the gear for reverse has straight teeth and all the others have teeth that go diagonally on the cogs so they engage smoother.

However the other noises shouldn't happen.
