190DSG (l&k) on order, anyone have one, and have something nice to say?

Featured Replies

I had my test drive at Transcity in that Rosso estate. They took it out of the showroom for me, put trade plates on, gave me the key and let me go off on my own. Car had about 15 miles on it I think.

Anyway test drive convinced me to buy one but it was a pity Trancity could get nowhere near newcardiscount.com price. I was going to buy a SEL but ended up with a L&K for less that the dealers best for SEL.

So now I've picked up our 190 DSG L&K Combi I can add a bit to the thread. Firstly, I should have bought a DSG last time round. Great box, silky smooth changes, works a treat with the stop/start.

  • You really, really need the sunroof - it's the standout feature of the car.

  • Its a fantastic motor... Parked up tonight in town car park... Couldn't stop looking back at the bloody thing ... Actually look forward to the drive to and from work :-)

No problem at all. Smooth process and always there if you contact them. car arrived on a trailer.

I'd use them again.

The L+K cost me £2000 odd less than the best offer from Trancity on a SEL. Carwow offers were only a little better than Transcity.

That's very good to know :)

Mine was equally as good, I would recommend them to anyone.

Prompt replies to emails, great price and delivered when and how (trailer) they said it would be.

OK you don’t get a build week, but they quoted 12 - 14 weeks and it took exactly 12 weeks from ordering to delivery.

That's exactly how I've found them. Very helpful, professional and friendly. I'm just disappointed they're too far away for me to use for servicing. 85 miles is a bit of a trek each way! Really looking forward to picking it up.

I'll keep this in mind for the future, thank you.

Who was the supplying dealer?

Transcity in Walthamstow. I'm in Brackley, near Silverstone. Long old way to go but well worth the drive. I wanted the Rosso paint and as Skoda in their infinite wisdom have withdrawn it, there are painfully few about. I'd have liked the dynamic headlight system and traffic sign recognition, but neither are crucial so I went for this one.

I can see that a 170-mile round trip is a bit much for a service, when are you due to pick it up?

This Saturday. I've been agonising over whether to spec a new build and get the options I wanted but I'd have to compromise on colour or get the colour I want and compromise on the options. I personally love Rosso Brunello with the cream leather. I wanted the crew assist, smart lighting and heated washer nozzles which this car lacks, but it's the right colour and interior so I'll have to live without the other options.

I have to say that it does look stunning in the flesh so to speak, the way it sits on those 19" wheels was the reason that I ordered them for my car, that and the beige leather, I would of had that colour as well if it had still been available. Oh and the panoramic sunroof that your car has got is brilliant.

Good luck with your purchase, I'm sure that your handover with Reece will go well :)

What colour have you opted for on your 280?

Magnetic Brown Metallic with beige ventilated leather and the 19" wheels.

Hopefully mine is 3-4 weeks away!

I looked at the Rosso superb at W/stow a great combination as soon as you sit inside it feels classy my mate has top of the range Jag and is on par. I am just about to order a L&K 190 dsg I will add a pan sun roof and 19 " wheels. Going for Cappacino and cream leather would prefer tan .May order from coast 2 coast. Any advice welcome

I order a specced up L&K from C2C, this was later rejected by ‘Škoda’ as apparently it was too high a spec for a fleet purchase (the way C2C buy them) I have my suspicions that it had more to do with the fact that I was paying cash for the car (so no interest would be gained by C2C?).

So ordered through newcardiscount for a few £ less than C2C quoted... and the car was delivered FOC on a trailer.

You'll love it Gaz. Fantastic car.

Pano sunroof is superb and transform the car, giving it a very light airy and premium feel. I'll deal with the risk of leaks, it's a killer app.

I've been very impressed with our new SEL 150 DSG estate. Engine never seems to labour and has decent shove over 2000rpm even with 5 people and luggage in the car. Ride quality feels smooth front and back, road and wind noise is minimal, although the diesel is very noisy outside the car. The DSG shuffles well in traffic and at speed - comments about lack of smoothness at low speed and stop/start seem exaggerated, unless the previous owners had Phantoms. Handling seems sharp enough even if the steering is a dab over-servoed.

L&K package would be the icing on the cake but the car already has so much tech and features. Maybe rear climate control (it's a huge cabin), reverse cam (it's impossible to park) and an electric passenger seat the relatively rare occasion we have guests.

The 18" wheels are pretty gash so defo order the anthra 19s, even if it makes the ride a tad harsh.

I've not found the 19's too bad. The car doesn't give me quite the confidence my old S2 SE estate did going into corners but she was on 17's which I guess would be more stable? My twenty something kids gave it a huge thumbs up all though my son at 6'1" said rear headroom was only just sufficient for him. Leg room is ridiculously good however, no complaints there. They love the roof. I'm too busy looking out the front to really enjoy that, though the extra light it lets in is very nice.

I've switched mine to sport mode and find everything fine. Fuel economy has improved too since switching to sport which was unexpected but very welcome.

A week in to owning my Superb and nothing to grumble about apart from not having the speed limiter function on the cruise system which would have been nice.

I've ordered my Superb Combi L&K 150 Manual on 29th of January and estimated delivery date is now "some day in September". Not sure if UK-trimlevels are the same but I also added the L&K pack and the vented seats. Looking forward to September!

That's a hell of a long wait! Is that something that's specific to Belgium?

They've told me it's because the supplier of the panoramic sunroof can't keep up. The panoramic sunroof is now already limited to L&K-trim only. So, if you use the configurator and still can order a model where sunroof is not standard, and you can still add it as an option. You probably have a different supplier.

edit: I've seen the option also came back available in Belgium, so maybe they solved the issue!

I'm saving the sunroof for my next Superb. C'mon.......I've got to have SOMETHING to look forward to next time round!
