Buttons by gear stick

Featured Replies

There are 10 available buttons by the gear stick, 5 each side. I have L&K, but top few are blanks. Did Skoda do 10 to balance them up or are they used for options? Anyone know?

Mike

Top are blanks. The most you can have is 6 with 3 either side.

Maybe there will be future use with EV/hybrid variants. Start/stop was added to a blank on the Mk2 Superb when facelifted.

My Superb is a "non facelift", and it has a button for "start/stop".

How come so many of the pictures "appear" to have more than three each side, plus what are the ones below the gear stick.

Left to Right: Auto-Hold, Parking Brake, Central Locking.

So it seems; it took me a while to accept that and I asked my dealer several times "what have I not got (that I could have had)".

Given the car is indeed maxed out on options, I do find it rather annoying that there are nevertheless blanks.

It would be nice to be able to configure some quick-links to personal preferences. For instance, I would just love to have a quick mute button for the sat nav (my default setting is sound off - can't stand the constant yakking that tells me the bleeding obvious - but sporadically it can be helpful).

Incidentally, has anyone noticed S3 sat nav says "please" whereas S2 didn't?

Haha yes! SWMBO and I had a giggle over how courteous the voice was in comparison to Google Maps

You mean the S2's Teutonic School Ma'am ordering you to "Turn Right... NOW!"?

Though I do seem to be missing the "Stay on this road for a long time".

Yes and oh yes indeed that was a beautiful line on the S2 system

Ah right. I thought Start/Stop was a facelift thing.

"I stand corrected", said the man in the orthopaedic shoes...

Was it on the pre FL Greenline or something?

Yes ;) '11 1.6 TDI.

The blanks will be for the 'James Bond' limited edition. You know the one, it comes with eject, oil slick, smoke and missile launcher (the guidance radar is already there..........) :-)

I do not miss that one bit!!

I do find the road numbers annoying, who calls the (for example) A249 .... A two hundred forty nine??

Almost everyone except the British. "Get your kicks on Route Six Six" just doesn't have the same ring to it!

Fair point!!
