I need to get my windscreen replaced and national windscreens have quoted £135. 

 

Any advise or reviews about this company?

do a search, there are a couple of postings regarding this companys workmanship

Had mine done by them the middle of last year. took about 40 mins, guy cleared up after himself, managed to keep the sealant off the pillars and bodywork. Not a bad experience with them.

 

I was hesitant after reading reviews but didn't have a choice as they were the go to guys for my insurance company.

Avoid IMHO, they ended up putting in a scratched screen in on mine and they 'didn't notice it' so had another go, that arrived broken, then on the third go they ended up scratching my A pillars and putting the screen in uneven. 

Never, never again.

Hmm, maybe i need some reviews about the Birmingham branch. 

 

They have come in the cheapest.

 

Auto glass want £600+!!!

Ridiculous, I went with an independent in Exeter for mine and all inclusive it was £145 quid!

 

That is the screen with the rain sensor and the green tint strip along the top.

 

I also managed to claim some of that back through my insurance.

Most of it is going to depend on the individual fitter that comes out to you.

 

Just hope you get a good one.

I guess I will have to just give it a go. Hopefully it's a good one. 

 

Can't believe the prices auto glass charge! 

Ha, I asked Autoglass for a quote for mine just for a laugh, got a quote for "about £390.34".

Make sure you get the correct screen price varies a lot on features. Mine was standard screen with auto rear view mirror and no top tint. The ended up fitting the one with top tint twice the price. Got it for the price of the one without but they also had to order new wire tubes for the mirror as it sat 30mm lower on the screen with top tint.

So had my screen changed today with an OEM. 

 

Would i use National Windscreens Birmingham again? No

 

Why? chipped the pillar when fitting. Need a touch up pen to fix the issue. A bunch of amateurs fitting the screen. Very unprofessional and smoking inside the unit whilst customers present. 

 

Learnt my lesson the hard way. Don't make the mistake yourselves. 

Well I wouldn't be happy with it being chipped. Similar happened with AutoWindscreens with mine where they scratched both A pillars and dented one too.

AutoWindscreens are now sorting it.. Originally by chipsaway or similar but couldn't find one to sort the dent so it is now being done via my Insurers with them dealing direct.. Although it's still yet to be sorted, and the replacement screen refitted as that's also incorrectly fitted too !!
