Radio cutting out when phone receives email - v annoying

Featured Replies

Hi All

This has only recently started and its driving me mad.

If my phone is connected via BT and an email arrives when Im listening to the radio it cuts the radio off and stays connected to my phone in silence

Anyone else had this? I need a fix!

I've never had this on the PID i the Citigo but the unit in my Fabia mk 2 does it all the time. Haven't got a clue how to sort it.

Check if the guy who talks is actually saying anything at all and that the sat nav map voice isn't on mute, you can check this under navigation, more along the bottom (might be named as settings) and select show map, if it is, unmute it, if it isn't then do the following (but exit the map screen hitting the back button) set up a random journey on the sat nav, if he's mute when he's meant to say "please select" then restart the PID and then after restarting check that he's unmute by setting up a random journey, this is a glitch on the PID where the guy is unmuted but he doesn't say anything but the nav still cuts out the music, restarting it usually works

What phone are you using?

My iPhones are both working without issue, My wife's Android however, has this same issue.

Its more annoying that it didnt do it up until the last few months, but normally on my way home an email arrives and zoink it takes it out, press the radio button and we are back in business

You could choose to edit the android settings for the bluetooth connection. You can disable various parts of the connection, such as media.

This means it wont bluetooth, songs from the phone, but might also be the "sound" the phone wants to make for an email. It is sswitching to play music from the phone, and doesnt change back.

I find with my iPhone that the sound changes from stereo to mono when I receive any notification or email on my iPhone..... Slightly irritating!
