8.5J Wheels on Octavia II

Featured Replies

How many people have this width of wheel fitted?

I've just bought my Octavia VRS coming from a B5 S4 Avant. I currently have 18x8.5J ET29 A5 wheels on the S4 which I want to put on the VRS. Tyres are 225/40 R18

I know it will be tight, it's tight on the S4 too! anybody got any experience or pictures of anything similar for reference?

S4 with said wheels below:

To be honest I don't think it will be the width but the offset that will cause you the problems.

That's what I thought would be the case. I'll just have to stick them on and see what they are like. I need coilovers before they go on properly, then I'll maybe look at rolling or flaring the arches.

I had an old set of rs6 wheels, I think that's what they were, with an et35. They stuck out on the front, not masses but enough. Your wheels I would think will be really noticeable and possible mot failure.

Won't you miss the power of the S4?

Would think you'll have to run some stretch, at least on the front.

I'm missing the power and the noise! Had 307bhp, but it's starting to get a bit long in the tooth, a few niggles here and there, and I don't have the time or space to work on it because of recently moving house. I bought the VRS on Sunday night and was looking at remaps on Monday morning!

Well the 225s it has at the moment do give a little stretch. They will look daft if I don't lower it, and if I do that it probably wont be for a while due to house renovations and wedding in the summer.

If I do go down that route I might look at rolling or flaring the arches if necessary to fit the wheels.
