Put drivers front window down the other day, only goes back up about an inch and stops.

Got the door apart, and found this lovely bodge from a previous owner.

Any ideas what that blue wire does and why this might have been done? Bypassed the plig completely and then dodgy solder onto the board, all protected with some gaffer tape...

Holy **** batman. I'm no sparky but I dare say that's bypassing a corroded pin. Which wire is missing from the plug?

Did mine the other day and also found a bodge, not quite as brutal as yours but someone obviously decided to go crazy with the wiring on mine.
