Having had my 63 vrs tsi for a few week now and really happy with the car as a whole my thoughts turned to a few extras, which would enhance the driving experience even more .

As we travel to Munich a few times a year to visit our son and it being 900 miles to my sons front door i thought about adding cruise control ,which makes long journeys a fair bit easier.

Called at my local skoda dealer to be told it can't be done with skoda parts, but they will put another makers control arm on for £450.

Looks like i'll just have to make more stop on way down to Munich in future.

If this is not genuine skoda parts that they will be fitting do you know of any company's out there that do the same type of work for a reasonable price in the west yorkshire area.

regards Jon

I'll shout horsesh!t on this one. I'm sure someone will be along to tell you how it's done - not easy but doable with Skoda parts

LOL in Croatia cruise control is standard on VRS, Style, Scout & L&K!

interesting to see the replies you get, I'm sure someone will have done it....

I am sure it can be added, I was quoted 280 pounds to ad cruse control on a se. They had to check the steering wheel as it can't be added to one of them, 4 or 3 spoke something like that. I assumed the cheaper models it could not be added.

I think they said the problem was the multi function steering wheel and the skoda cruise control does'nt fit ,but it does without the extra functions.,if thats make sense.

cheers Jon.

I had cruise fitted to my 63 plate vrs in November last year, the skoda cruise control will fit to MF steering wheels, basically they take off the steering wheel, unplug the existing stalks, then install a cable from behind the steering wheel area to the fuse board behind passenger footwell if I remember correctly, put the new stalks on, then they use the SD card to activate the cruise & basically job done, test drive it & that's it, cruise fitted and should cost between £270.00-£350.00 max, all supplied & fitted
