vRS rally

Featured Replies

can somebody help me. i'm looking at buying one of the 100 rally vRS's. i'm told they have

xenon's

headlamp washers

heated seats

ESP

does anybody have one?

do they come with the light or dark headlining?

does anybody have anymore info on them?

i'd really like to know more if anybody can help, i'd really appreciate it

Sure you know by now but they have:

Xenons

Heated Seats

Side Airbags

White paint

White wheels

Decals

CD+Changer instead of tape+changer

ESP instead of ASR

That's about it really.

Incidentally, I'm thinking of selling mine - 24K, FSSH, immaculate and unfiddled with. PM me if you're vaguely interested.

Edit: Oh, and they have the light headlining, and there's some argument over whether or not they're mildly better in the power/handling departments, although no-one can prove either way. Suffice to say I've driven several standard vRSs and they do feel different to my vRS Rally.

There is one for sale on Autotrader, No.75 of 100 apparently, it's covered in graphics though:

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.asp?page=2&modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=SKODA&model=OCTAVIA&variant=vRS&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=co4+5wn&miles=1500&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH

Also the Skoda dealer in Colchester (the one in Copford not Colchester North) have a white vRS which I think is a rally too. Seem to remember it being very expensive circa

it's covered in graphics though:

Erm, yes. So it bloody well should be. The originals are getting rare now too many people are dedecaling them.

I've got one (51/100) de-stickered, and having see pictures of the car with the stickers on it I'm glad. I wouldn't have bought it if they had been fitted. I think they are just a mess.

Especially what they did to the bumpers....

Having looked about a bit I'd say that a WRC is no better or worse than a normal VRS (unless it still stickered up) and certainly not worth any more money.

as an aside

When cleaning the car the other day I was wondering. If the passenger airbag were to explode out of the dashboard you would surely need a new dash board. Since the number plaque is on the dashboard, you'd lose it wouln't you?

Each to their own I guess. I wouldn't have bought mine if it DIDN'T have the stickers, because white cars are generally a bloody silly idea in the UK for 9 months of the year. It's only because it's different, and rare, that I ended up buying it.

Since the ally plaque is only stuck on, I don't see it would be a problem to unstick it and replace it on a new dash.

Don't they have elctric folding wing mirrors too? Also, are the rear seats heated as well?

No, and no.

the wrc's do seem to have different dampers.. marginally firmer than std vRS.

As for the stickers.. There are very few left in orig condition... which is sad.

Woohoo!

Finally someone agrees with me.

It is sad. What's sadder is I turned down a reaallly good px price very recently against an S8 because the dealer freely admitted he would desticker the car to sell it on.

Just don't tell SWMBO I was looking at cars again!

There are currently 3 WRC vRS advertised on Skoda's website - the cheapest being £7995 from:

AUTOSALES LTD

VULCAN ROAD BILSTON WEST MIDLANDS WV14 7JW

UsedCarImage.aspx?Id=500880690&defaultimage=skoda.net&width=345&height=226&view=1

It's 75 of 100

I wouldn't buy that one at Colchester unless you could get it very very cheap. I think they've had it in stock for at least a year and I don't think its hardly ever moved !!! PM WrightVRS and he might be able to tell you how long they've had it. But

In Dubai, the oposite is true. With temperatures touching 50Degrees C in the summer, a white car is hands down the most practical. Although white carpets certainly aren't practical wherever you live...

Don't you ever feel a bit daft driving around in a car covered with the stickers? I use my RS for work and I think that people wouldn't take me seriously if I turned up in a stickered WRC

I bet the glue holding the aluminium plate to the dashboard melts in the summer and the plate falls off... we'll wait and see.

oh well that settles it.

my octy vRS is being returned, for those of you who hadn't read it elsewhere on briskoda my vRS was involved in an aggravated robbery. it looks like they are gonna repair it, bugger really cos they were gonna pay out tomorrow!!!

Adam tell them you don't want it because of what has happened with the vehicle & you are afraid that the robbers friends will think it is them driving it and you may end up getting involved in something you dont want to be involved in, just make it sound really plausible and they may just write it off.

Yup that's definately worth a try - I would also try and see the car (if you havent already) get a good idea of exactly whats involved and how long its going to take then give the insurance co some grief.

Have they check the Engine / Running gear etc yet --- I know the car didnt end up going far - but you never know how it was treated after it was stolen from you.

Try and play on that and make it clear to the insurance company that your not going to just accept their version of repaired.

Daft? Not at all. If people are bothered by the type of car I drive, that's their problem. When I'm working, I get the job done, and that's all that matters.

And my glue's stayed intact over last summer even parked in the sun for long periods... although it's not quite 50C...
