Bye Bye Lane Markings...............

Featured Replies

Might make insurance claims interesting too when there is a smash.

'Which side of the road did the accident happen?'

Hmm...

I read an article on this before and the writer was of the opinion any accident on an unmarked road would likely be looked on as knock for knock meaning no matter how innocent you are you've to claim on your insurance.

oh dear :( thats really not good

No it's not a scenario I'd like to get involved in.. been there once many moons ago when the other person was clearly in the wrong and as we both where insured by the same company they wanted me to accept a knock for knock claim.. it took months to get them to accept my innocence

Thats only one article writers opinion though.. id lime to see what a judge or legal team would of it in a test case...

Are they f**king insane.

Turn of night time lighting, remove all lines.

Now work out where the edge of the road is at night.

Anyway, this is not going to be pretty and I think extremely daft. I think it's more about cost saving than anything else.

The Dutch also seem much more patient, polite and tolerant - must be down to the coffee shops ;)

Ever seen the Dutch towing a caravan on a German Autobahn?

Very few of our roads have edge markings once off the national primary routes... you just learn to adapt and see where the tar ends... i dont agree with the idea of removing markings, but it making it harder to drive on the road by not know ing where the edge is... thats not a good argument imo....

Where are 'they' going to paint the Hazard Warning Lines ?
