PCH purchase pricing

Featured Replies

Maybe not one for S3 owners as such yet, but I note that part of PCH is that you can get a price to purchase the vehicle at the end of the contract. Not that you can purchase it yourself, technically, but someone else can (not your "family" whatever that means). I've heard that some of the suggested pricing can be quite attractive. I was wondering how they calculate the price. Suspect it's a pretty straightfoward formula, probably based on Glasses valuation to guess an auction value and add on a little bit.

Has anyone got a more authoritative guess, or experience in this area - and what are the usual ways to get around the technicality of not buying it yourself?

It might be a shame to have to pay for the extra options twice, but I guess that's pretty inevitable!

On a private PCP you can certainly purchase it yourself. I presume you are talking about a company car?

At the end of our company car leases, we have the option to purchase and yes they are priced quite attractively.

I've taken out an individual contrat hire through Skoda for SE Business (no other way to get it as we don't have company cars), and as far as I know there is no option to buy at the end, just have to give it back.

Yes, been pricing PCH with Skoda themselves and there is an option to purchase for someone apart from yourself. Not sure how they determine the figure though.

You could have had the SE Business in a deal that meant you could have kept it at the end, but you would have had to source outside finance.

Indeed. To be honest at this point not too bothered about end ownership, was a deal that fitted well with the spec I wanted against my current finances. Will see what's on the table in 3 years!

Mines an SE business PCH with Skoda. They wrote to me at the start to say they may offer it to a friend or family member of mine at the end of my lease. No idea of price as I assume it would depend on mileage and condition.

I won't be making an offer for it unless I could immediately punt it on for more.

I think it holds some appeal to me, as my general modus operandi with car purchasing in the past has been to buy a 1 or 2 year old car and run it into the ground. PCH to evaluate and then make an informed decision seems like a good idea. Clearly one wouldn't want to pay over the odds
