Time for coilovers, but

Featured Replies

I cant decide between H&R or KW. Motorsport world stock them both but the KW has 2 varieties? At the moment im going with H&R as I know they are used on a lot on motorsport applications so would hope they are good.

Also they are only rated at 900kg for the front axle, whereas the current Eibach springs I have for the Vrs are 960 - think this might be a problem??

Would love to hear from people with coilovers :)

Bit of a :bump: for you, especially as one day, I might be able to afford coilovers too!

I've said it loads of times and I don't mind saying it again.

When you fit them buy the proper tool for the hubs!!

H&R as I know they are used on a lot on motorsport applications

think you'll find that KW's are used on all the german DTM cars, or something like that....

KW's there **** 3 variants, v1's are hight adjustable, v2's are height and rebound/damping adjustable, v3's are?

I've got v2's on my octy, very good. took a while to get them to how i wanted, so it might be worth getting the v1's as some german boffin has set them to how they should be....

Cheers guys :D

V1s sound good. Never sat in a car with coilovers, how do they ride on normal (crappy) roads, will they be much harsher than Eibach springs and dampers - will be looking at lowering it around 45mm, so nothing too slammed

they are stiffer, but with v2's you can adjust the stiffness to suit. I got my v2's for the price of v1's. My car is set fairly stiff to you can feel most of the bumps, but thats how it like it.

Lowering 30mm on Eibachs is enough for me - I've had a few close shaves, including the bloody speedbumps on the access road to my house that I can't get over

I think the 900kg is the TDi or PD100 and the PD130 needs the 960kg.

Yeah the sump is low, im quite lucky i never go near speed bumps.

Cheers boyced I'll def look into the V2s, I can feel the credit card starting to creek

FKs? Considered them? Good budget alternative IMO.

er no I haven't.. does budget mean bad though?

Well, I like mine. Sure they crash over potholes, but even eibachs do that to a point. Performance is spot on and I love the adjustability.

I would go for KWs...

if your not into fiddling, the v1 will do fine.. am told on good authority that they actually ride better than the eibachs do!

also if you do go for them MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE VRS SPECIFIC SPRINGS...

that in itself should make your decision for you.. as all the other coilover kits are general for every fabia for the 1.2 up to the vRS.. so ride would be naff as you would have to dial out all the sag you would get on the front springs

Have you got the adjustable damper versions?

Thanks for the info - I was concerned about the extra front end weight. I'll do a bit of ringing around and let you all know how I get on

I do have adjustable damping at the front, but I've never even bothered to find out how to do it. :) I've been happy with the out-the-box setup. I've just fiddled with the height every now and then.

I have the H&R's and I love them.

Height adjustable only, but I just set them to their lowest position and have left them there. They're Grrrrreat!
