Fab Vrs Buying

Featured Replies

Please can anybody provide some clues as the delivery time for a fabby vRS, I've been told from various dealerships with delivery times of 5 to 15 weeks?

Welcome to the forum

I think regarding the delivery time, it will depend on what extras you want if any, and whether one of the required spec is already on its way to the uk.

Latest I heard was February for a factory order. Would make sense as mine is a factory order placed mid September and the delivery isnt till early December, at least!! Im just keeping my fingers tightly crossed that I may have it before Christmas.

If you want a standard car then apparently some jiggery pokerry between dealers is possible, just depends on your luck.

Cheers - Ross.

Welcome to Briskoda.

As mentioned earlier, delivery varies depending on exact spec required and whether dealers are willing to hagle with each other. I only waited 3 weeks for mine luckily!

Thanks for your responses & the welcome,

;)

Well it looks like I'm going to have to do a bit of shopping around!

There are 2 'pre-owned' (demonstrator?) 2003 Favia vRSs on Skoda UK's website. Wings of Peterborough have a lemon yellow one with 1704 miles, and Ingram Skoda (Ayr) a black magic metallic one with 1000 miles. Both are

I'll let you know the estimated delivery times for the furby vRS later today.....

after I go and order myself one this morning! :D

Already been quoted delivery times of next year though.

I got mine from the showroom from a local dealer. Was supposed to be going on as demo but I bought it first.

Just waiting for funds to clear so I can go and pick it up :)

January delivery for mine and all other factory orders are for January - Februaury delivery too!

Some on Skoda network for wek 50 & 51 build (some high spec, some standard)

Oh well it will be worth the wait! :)

Thanks fabTdi,

Good luck with yours.

Surprisingly the best quote has been from an independent Skoda dealer, for 5 weeks. Although he's not giving me any info. on where he's sourcing it from? Although he's has told me it would have the full uk spec. package...

Have you noticed the 16" alloys come without locking nuts?

:)

I didnt notice the wheel nuts, but I have two sets on my TDi (paranoid!) so i can swap them to the vRS.

5 weeks is good, although i went for some factory fit options so I'll have to wait until Jan.

When did you decide to go vRS route then, Matt? - I didn't realise you were looking at one? :D

Skoda locking wheelnuts for the Fabia are

Really should be saving for that house deposit but thought "what the hell!"

Was looking at an Octy a while back but running costs too high, so I saw the Fabia demo at the dealer i just had to have one. :)

My Fabia vRS has locking nuts fitted. The Skoda microsite on the Fabia vRS lists them as standard equipment.

Also has headlamp protectors.

Might be a dealer thing though.

My Dad's didn't come with locking wheel nuts either... it's the first thing I noticed. Sorted now though!:)

Mine came with standard locking wheel nuts! Was shown the key in the tool kit as part of the hand-over.

Same here

Correct me if I'm wrong but if IRC the lockers are fitted at the dealership along with the plastic wheelnut covers.

yeah mine came with locking wheel nuts as standard

If alloys are standard on the car then the car should come with locking wheel nuts. Thats what the dealership told me when I asked if I needed to buy locing nuts for my elegance alloys.

I'm surprised at some of the lead times quoted.

I called up my local dealer today and he said depending on colour and specification, it would take 2-6 weeks for a Fabia vRS!

I'm popping down on Saturday to try out the demo car!! :)

Andy,

Unless the dealer in question has a stock of demo cars or is owed a lot of favours then 2 - 6 weeks sounds a bit optimistic to me. My dealer has 2 demo cars (which other dealers try to get off him all the time) and the system shows no more being built until week 50/51.

Have to say it's a nice car - had a test drive and was expecting it not to compare to the Octy vRS but was pleasantly surprised! Only had the Octavia just over a year so probably won't change it just yet.

Jane

If you have a Fabia vRS, you have alloys and you do get locking wheel nuts. Lift up the carpet in the boot to reveal the spare (full size) tyre and you'll have a small "adaptor" to get the wheel bolts undone.

The code for the lock is also mentioned in the paperwork.
